Matthew McConaughey tells TODAY Texas can win CFP: ‘Alabama has been the gold standard for 15 years’

Matthew McConaughey joined Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on the “TODAY Show” on Tuesday, spreading the Texas love after the Longhorns went into Tuscaloosa and beat Alabama 34-24.

“Alabama has been the gold standard for 15 years,” he said. “We go there the year before we’re about to join the SEC at that table. We go to their stadium Bryant-Denny. It was an awesome atmosphere. The hospitality down there is outstanding. And we beat ‘em. And we beat ‘em straight. It’s not one of those wins where you go, ‘Well, we could’ve.’ No. No. We won, OK?”
